Hello James

Book Monday 23 April off work

Thousands of people, just like you, have pledged to book St. George’s Day off work and celebrate England’s National Day with pride.

If you have not done it yet, please book Monday 23 April off work as part of your holiday entitlement. You don’t need government permission to make St George’s Day an ‘Unofficial Bank Holiday’.

Click here and pledge to book 23 April off work every year

What makes YOUR Full English Breakfast?

Sausage, Bacon and Eggs are standard – what else do YOU add to make a Full English? TV chef celebrities The Hairy Bikers suggest Spam Fritters, but what about Black Pudding, Mushrooms, Tomato and (our favourite) Bubble & Squeek.

Tweet your ideal Full English Breakfast and add #FullEnglish to the text.

Cover London Marathon with St. George flags!

The London Marathon takes place on Sunday 22 April – the day before St. George’s Day – and there will be worldwide coverage on the TV.

So bring your St. George flags to the Cutty Sark in Greenwich and let’s make it a sea of red & white. The Cutty Sark always gets TV coverage so your flag is guaranteed to be seen on telly.

Most of the runners pass the Cutty Sark between 9.30 – 11.00am, so get there early.

We are getting closer to a Bank Holiday for England on St. George’s Day

Each year more and more St. George events are added to our website, each year more MPs support our cause, each year more Councils in England use your tax money to fund events.

Start your celebration early and get your St. George flag out now. There’s no need to wait until Monday 23 April and many of the celebrations start Friday 20 April.

Happy St. George’s Day!
